This time, we introduce about Kanpaku way Kobayashi Lion Dance. It is designated Intangible Cultural Property which has been handed down in Akita. Oral communication of evil spirit dispersion is made into the origin based on tradition. It is interesting that the young lions dancing dynamically while wearing a lion head are encouraged to reprimand from the elders.
Kanpaku way Kobayashi Lion Dance is performed on every August 16. It is dedicated in Kobayashitakio Shrine Dedication. Legend has it that if you pick up the shishimai’s hair falling on the ground and decorating it at the entrance, it is told that it becomes in good health. So please take it home with you!
